Statue Destruction Is Not About Slavery And Oppression

The destruction of statues associated with colonialism and slavery is picking up steam within Western Civilization, and the pressure is building for corporations to change brand names that are now deemed offensive, and to sponsor censorship. Although plenty of opinions on both sides of the issue are expressed across the political spectrum, the underlying driver for such behavior is misunderstood.

One would be tempted to believe that the removal of racially sensitive symbols would be part of a healing process that would aid in rectifying racial and social injustices, as it is presented, but, as an example, black people use the n-word on each other with extreme ease, defying the logic about symbol induced damage. So much for intellectual equality and honesty.

In case one isn’t aware of modern day slavery, the fact that the Global Slavery Index indicates that there are currently 9.2 million slaves in Africa and is failing to stimulate outrage, annihilates the protesters’ credibility and explains the yearning for $14 trillion in reparations from the deep pocket U.S. taxpayer. The map clearly shows that Western Civilization is not the problem 150 years after slavery was abolished. Obviously non-Caucasian people didn’t evolve as expected, and the woke people — whatever the silliness of the word “woke” is — are obviously not awaken, and cannot be found protesting slavery and oppression in Africa or Asia, and demanding compensation.

We must take a step back to the U.S. Civil Rights movement of the 1960s to comprehend the current state of affairs. As it stands, the mantra that that all men are created equal, a myth to say the least, has been repeated endlessly for decades now, instilling an expectation that socio-techno-economic outcomes should be somewhat on an equal footing regardless of race/ethnicity. Unfortunately that is not the case, and as equal inputs do not produce equal outputs across the racial rainbow, the feeling is that something, somewhere, must be holding Black people back, and it must be the White population judging by its socio-techno-economic prowess. One can even go further and reason that the success of Caucasian people is at the expense of everyone else, and to a large degree one must sympathize with the cause of minorities because they’ve been waiting for the great equalizer that will never come.

While plenty of exchanges on the social injustice subject have taken place, never, ever, has anyone explained the dismal and organic socio-techno-economic track record of Black people, choosing instead to blame slavery, colonialism and oppression. Then when presented with evidence, such as “Ethiopia: Europeans Didn’t Build That Misery” and “Hunger In Africa Defies Logic But Is Predictable,” they dismiss it and resort to predictable labels to deflect from the hard facts.

Thus the chosen tactic is to use any event as a pretext to mask their inborn ineptitude and use “white supremacy” as a scapegoat and point to it as the root cause of their shortcomings. But the correct approach would be to laugh off the implied inferiority and prove that they are just as capable by producing comparable outputs. Don’t hold your breath and the issue was addressed in “Racism’s Assertion Remains Uncontested.

Yet racism remains the preferred sticker used in the attempt to circumvent the irrefutable data. But the assertion that “racial differences produce an inherent superiority of a particular race” remains uncontested because it’s impossible to prove that all races/ethnic groups are equal. Actually the contrary is true.

As we’ve crossed the point of no return and normalcy will be missing in action until the issue of racial inequality is resolved — and the end game will be a big surprise to the revolutionary whiners — the recent eye opening moment came courtesy of Hawk Newsome, the leader of Black Lives Matter of Greater New York.

“I said if this country doesn’t give us what we want, then we will burn down the system and replace it. All right? And I could be speaking figuratively, I could be speaking literally,” Newsome said. “It’s a matter of interpretation.”

What exactly do they want? Burn down the system? And build a system based on what model? Haiti, Liberia, or even a liberated and woke South Africa, soon to be Zimbabwe 2.0? Lastly, one must ask what will Black Lives Matter complaint about when all statues, symbols, and names have been removed, all police forces abolished, and their dismal track record of socio-techno-economic achievement remains unchanged in 10, 20, 50 years from now?

So what is the underlying driver for all the protests that transcends race and ethnicity? “Envy of Human Achievement Triggers Hate And Conflict.”
